About
Lil Durk represents an entire generation of Chicago’s South Side with a journey that’s raised him from underground rap reverence to the modern elite of mainstream hip-hop. Breaking out during the Chicago drill movement in the early 2010s, Lil Durk first grabbed ears with his 2011 single “Sneak Dissin'” and subsequent full-length mixtape releases like 2012’s Life Ain’t No Joke and the first two installments of his Signed to the Streets series. His 2015 debut album Remember My Name served as his first major label release on Def Jam, and he maintained a prolific clip through the latter-half of the decade while also establishing his own Only the Family record label. His feature on Drake’s 2020 single “Laugh Now Cry Later” marked a crucial turning point in his career, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning Lil Durk his first two Grammy nominations. He has since logged two No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200 with 2021’s The Voice of the Heroes joint album with Lil Baby and 2022’s 7220, which featured the crossover hit “Broadway Girls” with country star Morgan Wallen. In 2023, he released his eighth studio album Almost Healed behind the single “All My Life” featuring J. Cole, which peaked at a career-best No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
